Convalescent Home
James 1:27 states “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after
orphans and widows in their distress.” Our elderly can be a forgotten people and while many of them
have been sent to the rest home for recovery or to receive extensive care, often times they never get
back to their homes and many are never to be visited by family and loved ones again. We’re looking
for people who have a positive attitude and a willing heart to reach out to some extremely valuable
and forgotten people. It is our vision to effectively minister to and meet the spiritual needs of the
patients through the Word and worship and ministry gifts.
Hospital Chaplaincy
It is our intent to open an Chaplaincy Program at Renoun Hospital here in Reno. As of this date they
have no program in place for volunteers. When it is operational we will require all volunteers to
attend an orientation and thereafter bi-weekly support and training sessions relative to ministry at the
hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for those called or feel urged to step out in ministry!
Mercy Food Ministry
Our vision is Jubilee Mercy Ministry. Through the oversight of a minister and a team of Christian
volunteers, it is our hope to serve our church and community by providing an effective food outreach
without the regulations and red tape. Essentially, for a donation of $30, we will provide $120+ worth
of food! Depending on availability, this can include meat and fresh produce. How? Through the
community of restaurants and vendors, we will be able to move the product quickly and effectively
into the hands of those who need it the most. The bonus for us is the many opportunities to pray with
people and show the love of the Lord. What would be the impact if we could make deliveries to
senior centers and senior apartments.
Aces in Academics
After school care will always be a part of our society until it no longer takes two people working two
jobs in order to make ends meet. This program is designed to help elementary school children
succeed academically. With the combined emphasis on God’s plan and purpose for their lives, we
can reset the balance and give these children a chance.
We are looking for a director to head this program and combine it with our K-12, Noah’s Ark
Program. To volunteer with the team we are assembling, you must have a working knowledge of 1st-
5th grade math and English, love and work well with children, and pass a Reno Police Department
background screening. The hours of operation will be Monday—Thursday from 3 pm to 5:30 PM.
Back to School
Starting next summer our goal is to give out school supplies and backpacks to children in our
community. We would love to provide free food, music, and carnival games. This will take a small
army of volunteers!
Christmas Dinner
This next year it is our goal to give out 100+ Christmas dinners throughout our local community. This
is the event where our volunteers will be able to see the benefits of their hard work, as they share the
real Reason for the season! Unlike normal programs, We will be in operation Christmas day. The
idea is to share this wonderful day with those we have been helping. Giving away new toys and
clothing, and sending them home with a complete dinner will do more than just feed the flesh. The
spirit will be fed with individual / group prayer, music, and a place full of joy and laughter for those
who are with us. The volunteer staff will be open to anyone who would like to bring hope and joy to
someone else on Christmas Day.
Harvest Festival
We are have a wonderful combined annual Harvest Festival that is a safe and fun alternative to
Halloween. Not only is it a wonderful time for our church families, the hope is for enough volunteers
that we will be able to expand into our community, giving us a tremendous evangelistic outreach.
Vacation Bible School
We will have a free week-long Vacation Bible School day camp. VBS is a structured activity with multi-
aged groups with crews, moving to different activity stations. They enjoy skits, crafts, games, movies,
and learn how to search out God’s truth from His Word.

takes time, finances and a clear desire to help others in their time of need.
What is beautiful about Christian volunteers is that they are also interested
in feeding the spirit of the person as well as the body. The world can grasp
this concept but they have no understanding of it. How can you give an
answer of hope when you have no hope in you to give?
The volunteer is a special person who not only has the time, desire and
