Partnership: What is it and how does it work.
|
Every person who understands the relationship of the tithe to God and their
personnel finances needs to look at this question. Years ago; I did my own search
and this is the presentation of where my search ultimately took me. Let me
interject here that if we Christians had a better understanding of what a Biblical
partnership was, we would not have the highest percent of divorces. Of all groups
studied; social, economical, race, beliefs… Christians (those who confess a
knowledge and acceptance of who Jesus Christ is) have the highest rate of
divorce among all categories. This is directly in response to the lack of training,
coming from the pulpits across this nation.
Two of the best examples that I would suggest you study for further understanding
are RHEMA and Creflo Dollar Ministries. Both are excellent ministries with two different approaches to the
same subject.
RHEMA is one of the finest churches in the world. Their mission is to train the future generation of Word
of Faith ministers. They have sent many people out into the field to gather in the harvest for God. To
complete this work they have developed a program called the, “RHEMA Word Partner Club”. They do not
put demands upon the relationship.
Creflo Dollar Ministries has a completely different presentation. I admire and agree with this ministry.
Though both ministries believe in the same relationship, the way it is presented on the web site is what is
different. So taking bits from both will enable us to quickly fully explore this special relationship.
We can immediately gain further understanding of the purpose of partnership, by looking at Webster’s
1828 dictionary. If you are not familiar with the original works, you will find this very interesting. It is
reported that Noah Webster’s 1828 American Dictionary contains the greatest number of Biblical
definitions given in any reference volume of its time. Webster considered "education useless without the
Bible". Noah Webster believed that the Bible and Christianity played important roles in the lives of a free
people and its government. …"in my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first
things in which all children, under a free government, ought to be instructed.... No truth is more evident to
my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the
rights and privileges of a free people...."
By using this earlier dictionary, one is able to gain a better understanding of the ideals and actions of our
American founding forefathers. Pastor Larry Elder has coined the phrase: pay attention to words, using
this dictionary will enable you to do just that. Follow the link above to access the online dictionary where
you will find these definitions.
P`ARTNERSHIP, n. The association of two or more persons for the purpose of undertaking and
prosecuting any business, particularly trade or manufactures, at their joint expense. In this case, the
connection is formed by contract; each partner furnishing a part of the capital stock and being entitled to
a proportional share of profit, or subject to a proportional share of loss; or one or more of the partners
may furnish money or stock, and the other or others contribute their services. The duration of the
partnership may be limited by the contract, or it may be left indefinite, subject to be dissolved by mutual
agreement. A partnership or association of this kind is a standing or permanent company, and is
denominated a firm or house. We say, A and B entered into partnership for the importation and sale of
goods, or for manufacturing cotton or glass.
Partnerships may be and usually are associations of private persons, not incorporated. In other cases,
the company is incorporated. Banking companies in the United States are usually incorporated, and are
essentially partnerships, but do not bear that name. Manufacturing companies are also frequently
incorporated.
1. Joint interest or property.
That is such a powerful phrase, “Incorporated and yet still considered a partnership.” Following this
through, using the same dictionary, we see what he means by this word incorporated;
INCOR'PORATED, pp. Mixed or united in one body; associated in the same political body; united in a legal
body.
So a partnership can be described as being…united together with two or more…mixed or associated
together… in one united purpose as a body of people…with a joint interest or a common goal.
Many ministries have defined this special relationship. I could fill pages explaining all the delicate nuances
of this subject but for now I will present the most comprehensive outline that I can quickly share with you.
A partner is one who shares responsibility in some common activity with another individual or group. That’
s great but this relationship needs more of a personnel commitment for God to bless it. A Vision Partner is
someone who is committed to the ministry and shares its vision.
Partnership is the relationship between people who support one another in the achievement of a common
goal. By no means is partnership just an avenue through which to raise finances. Instead, it involves a
mutual exchange of faithfulness. Each ministry should faithfully and actively pray on behalf of their Vision
Partners daily. They should declare the blessing—the empowerment to prosper and excel—on their Vision
Partners. Vision Partners of a ministry have the right to connect to the anointing that is on a ministry so
that they, too, can prosper spiritually, socially, mentally, physically, emotionally and financially.
Our Part:
• Pray daily for God's blessings to be on you
• Study and diligently seek the Word of God
• Present the Word of God in a easy to understand presentation
• Minister to you monthly through correspondence and online teaching
• Furnish you with an official partner certificate
• Be good stewards and operate with integrity and excellence
Your Part:
• Attend meetings in your area
• Always pray for the Pastor , his family and the Church Ministry
• Converse with us periodically within a one year period
• Actively strive to recruit new Vision Partners
• Support us financially with your monthly pledge: Philippians 4:17 (KJV) Not because I desire a
gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account"
That’s it. That is how we treat every Partner with Jubilee Christian Fellowship. The blessing comes from
the spiritual connection. I often explain it like this: when God looks down from heaven, he sees not only
you but also those who you have sworn to uphold in prayer and in support.
If an individual supports a candidate for public office but on voting day stays home, it would be the same
as telling a ministry that you support them but don’t pray for them. This does neither one of you any
good. However, when both parties honor their part, God covers that relationship and both are blessed.
Every soul that is saved and every life that is changed is credited to your heavenly account. This is
because your prayers and finances created the opportunities for the ministry to complete the work and
the smaller the ministry is the more valuable that relationship becomes.
Ever wonder why your financial seed, sown into a ministry year after year, does not bring a harvest?
Jesus tells the parable about the sower in; Mark 4:8 (KJV) And other fell on good ground, and did
yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and
some an hundred. The disciples came to him and asked for clarification about what he said and here in
verse 20 we see part of his response; Mark 4:20 (KJV) And these are they which are sown on good
ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty,
and some an hundred. How confusing is this subject? A number of years ago I was speaking with a
retired minister from a Lutheran background on this very subject. He said to me, “I took this very question
of why I was not seeing the 30, 60, 100 fold return in my own life, to the Pastor who was training me. He
told me that this return was not for us. That return was only for the people and not ministry. I accepted
that answer and have never questioned it since.” There is no scripture to back up this man’s point of view
but only shows the confusion of what it means to biblically prosper.
Only after looking at your own life (your reason for giving the Tithe/Offering, sin in your life,
unforgiveness, pride, faithfulness and many other issues we discuss during our services) you might want
to start examining the ministry that is being used for your storehouse. Do they know how to handle the
seed that you are planting in their ministry? Are they good stewards, good ground?
If you are not allowed to examine the ministry, if you are not allowed to ask the questions that have to be
asked, who will? If they will not answer the questions, get out fast. Why?
Let’s quickly look at God’s point of view. Malachi 3:10 (KJV) Bring ye all the tithes into the
storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord
of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there
shall not be room enough to receive it. This is your relationship to God when it comes to him
blessing you. Many ministries will not stand by this verse as being attainable in your life, now, today. Our
God said it, he meant it and he will do it but you have to understand your part.
That is what the Word of Faith movement is teaching ministries and congregations; biblical steps to
prosperity in our churches and the lives that are connected to them.
This is presented with love to the entire Body of Jesus Christ and I pray that this helps your understanding
and the words of Jesus now make perfect sense when he said: John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not,
but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly.
This Greek word perissos, Greek 4053, Strong’s per-is-sos'; is defined as…exceeding abundantly
above, more abundantly, advantage, exceedingly, very highly, beyond measure, more, superfluous,
vehement [-ly].
When you look the word up you will find it comes from Greek 4012 (peri) (in the sense of beyond);
superabundant (in quantity) or superior (in quality); by implication excessive; adverb (with Greek 1537
(ek)) violently; neuter (as noun) preeminence : A blessing that is beyond our understanding in its
abundance, of the highest quality with more than you can store (See Malachi 3:10) and when it happens it
will happen violently. That is why the Amplified Bible put it like this; John 10:10 (AMP) The thief comes
only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it
in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). If you don’t want this from God then fine, don’t take it but
don’t be telling the rest of us that God does not want us to prosper. You are flat out calling God a liar and
what Jesus said he came for a mistake in understanding.
You are to bless others with the overflow in your life, not live in shortage. Why do we Christians have this
backwards? Living poor and trying to be righteous because of it. This is the spirit of stupidity and it has to
be done away with. Why would people want to be a Christian and be broke? What type of an example is
that to the world?
My final thought for you to consider is this. Do you really think that Jesus taught his disciples, they were
to teach the gospel message of; we are to be victims of the financial climates that the world goes
through? Do you really think that you should be affected by the nation’s economy? Do you know that
God has a better plan for your life then that?
